Fasting Sometimes silence can be deafening. Silence torments us. We ask questions like the following: Is God Angry? Did I disappoint Him? God knows Jesus is in the tomb, why doesn't He do something?
God knows your career is in a dead end, your finances are struggling, your marriage or relationship is in a mess. Why doesn’t God act?
2. And on the seventh day God finished the work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all the work that he had done. 3. So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all the work that he had done in creation.
Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy.
It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
7. Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. 8. You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.
Find a quiet space where you can be alone and free from distractions.
Reflect on the events of Good Friday and the crucifixion of Jesus. Think about the sacrifice he made for our sins.
Read and meditate on God's word.
Spend time in prayer, expressing gratitude for Jesus' sacrifice and seeking a deeper understanding of the resurrection.
Journal your thoughts and feelings as you spend this day in silence and contemplation.
